This package contains several VFR landmarks and noticeable buildings for a vast area in the southwest of Paris around RN118, Vallée de l'Yvette and Vallée de l'Orge. It covers cities such as Montlhery, Palaiseau, Orsay, Arpajon, etc.
The main monuments are the following:
The Château de Montlhéry is a former fortified castle , nowadays ruined, located in the French commune of Montlhéry , in the heart of the former country of Hurepoix , on the left bank of the Orge , in the department of Essonne and the Île-de-France region.
Around 991, Thibaud de Montlhéry , the first lord of the place, fortified the hill with a castle mound. The foundation ruins reveal an oval polygon thirty meters by twenty-five, with a platform ten meters in diameter and seven meters high. The whole was protected by an enclosure encompassing the motte and the first courtyard, and the location of the current castle.
In 1358, the English besieged the castle but did not take it. In 1360 they were successful in this until the appointment of a new provost by Charles VI . In 1409, the Armagnacs took the castle, driven out in 1413 by Jean Sans Peuritself defeated in 1418 by the provost of Paris Tanneguy III du Chastel . In 1423 the castle fell into the hands of John of Lancaster until 1436 when it reverted to Charles VII.
In 1465, the castle served as a rear base for the troops of Louis XI during the battle of Montlhéry against Charles le Téméraire.
In 1590, Henri IV stayed one last time at the castle before the Governor of Paris decided in 1591 to dismantle it with the exception of the keep.
In 1764 and 1772, Philippe de Noailles, Count of Montlhéry, wrote a report stigmatizing the state of disrepair of the castle. The ditches were then filled in and became gardens between 1767 and 1771.
In 1992, the castle tower was closed to the public. Several restoration studies were then undertaken but were unsuccessful. A project is finally selected in December 2000. The tower is officially reopened to the public on September 15, 2012
The Viaduc des Fauvettes or Viaduc de Bures viaduct is a disused railway bridge located in the municipalities of Gometz-le-Châtel and Bures-sur-Yvette. The viaduct was built in 1913 to allow the completion of the line from Chartres to Paris by Gallardon. The viaduct, used by the German army during the Second World War, was bombed in 1944 by the Allies who damaged one of its vaults. It was only repaired in 2004 to make it a leisure base.
The Château de Montagu is a ruined castle located in the French commune of Marcoussis , in Hurepoix country in what is now the Essonne department and the Île-de-France region, twenty-six kilometers south-west of Paris.
Recognized as one of the finest achievements of the late Middle Ages, the castle became one of the most prized residences of the kings of France after the Hundred Years War. Close to the capital, it became an exclusive hunting spot for kings. In the middle of the 16th century, it became famous for hosting the Princes of Condé and Conti with their brother-in-law, the Duke of Longueville, during the Fronde. Forgotten then partly destroyed during the French Revolution, it was rediscovered about fifty years ago by Roland Payen, then by the Historical Association of Marcoussis.

Merci. J'ai plus de mal à sortir les mods en ce moment à cause des multiples freezes et bugs du jeu.
Les mods gratuits sont également moins mis en avant sur le site donc c'est sympa que la communauté soit au rendez-vous.
Bonnes fêtes!
