PMDG 737-800 Alaska Airlines "Starliner 75" N569AS
Features
- Hand-painted textures in 4k resolution, including accurate weathering and dirt details.
- Revised wing textures with more accurate inline leading edge wing anti-ice system.
- Note: Please reinstall if downloaded before 9/9/2022, I added a fix to the wing reflections. You can either reinstall the whole file again or just the one texture to install if you are comfortable doing that.
- Alaska Airlines cabin interior textures for inwflight entertainment, magazines, and safety cards.
- 75th anniversary cabin textures with carpeted bulkheads, seat and carpet colors, and Alaska logos in the galley, with older style cabin lighting as well. Due to modeling limitations, the same photos are repeated on the cabin overhead bins, and are mirrored. If this is too distracting you can install the no cabin version or replace them if you have the knowledge to do so.
- No cabin version for smaller file size
- Both blended winglets and split scimitar versions included.
Installation Instructions
NOTE: If you don't need or want the cabin textures or want to conserve disk space, please download the no cabin texture version instead, it uses roughly half the hard drive space.
1.) Unzip the alaska_starliner_737.ptp file to a folder of your choice.
2.) Open the PMDG Operations Center v2 (OC2) application.
3.) Under the Aircraft and Liveries option on the top menu bar, select Livery Utilities.
4.) On the left side, select Microsoft Flight Simulator under Simulator, PMDG 737-800 under Installed Products, and PMDG 737-800 under Variants / models.
5.) In the bottom left corner of the OC2, click the Install from PTP file button.
6.) Browse to the directory where you unzipped the alaska_starliner_737.ptp file.
7.) Open the file, the OC2 will install the repaint into your Community/pmdg-aircraft-738-liveries folder.
8.) If you have any issues with installation, you can contact PMDG support on their forums or their support website https://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/
9.) For optimal accuracy, makes sure a few options are selected in the FMC equipment page. This should be set automatically upon installation, but in case not make sure the SatCom dome is not installed, no PIP is selected, and original landing lights (not LED) are selected. If not sure how to do this, please read how to do so in the manual.
Switching between blended winglets and split scimitar winglets
If you prefer using the split scimitar weinglets instead of the original blended ones follow these steps:
1.) Uninstall previous version of this repaint (v1.0) using the PMDG OC2 if it already installed.
2.) Install the new version 1.1 from flightsim.to in the OC2 using the steps above.
3.) In your Microsoft \Community addons folder, locate the \pmdg-aircraft-738-liveries\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 737-800 Alaska Airlines (N569AS - 2007 - Starliner 75) folder.
(If you are not sure where the Community folder is, the default location is "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_xxxxxxxxxxxxx\LocalCache\Packages\Community\ )
4.) Open the aircraft.cfg using notepad or any other similar text editing software.
5.) Find the model=BW line located about halfway down the .cfg file. Replace the BW with SSW, so it reads model=SSW.
6.) Save file and close. That's it! To switch back, just switch these lines in reverse.
You should now have the split scimitar version in your flight simulator.
History
In 2007, Alaska Airlines had this 737 painted to resemble one of their liveries from the 1940s in celebration of their 75th anniversary in 2007. Using metallic paint to simulate polished aluminum, the livery reflects almost like metal under certain light conditions. Unfortunately this aircraft no longer sports this retro livery, but it can still be flown in the sim :)
This repaint was made with permission from PMDG per their paint kit EULA.
Thanks go to the team at PMDG for creating this excellent aircraft and repaint kit for Microsoft Flight sImulator, and to flightsim.to for hosting this file.
Please message me on flightsim.to if you have any comments or suggestions. Thanks!

this livery is nice, do you mind making the model standard winglets instead of scimitar?

Beautiful job, it really does look fantastic. Looks so good is there any chance of making it for the 600 version too?

Sadly, this livery no longer exists, N569AS is just a regular livery now. Thanks for for bringing it back.

Yes! And I believe it was the Cars livery before that. Hope they have something planned for the 100th anniversary, though still 10 years away :)
