TABA, short for Transportes Aéreos da Bacia Amazônica, was the only airline to ever operated the Bae 146 in Brazil. The airline owned a fleet of 2 of these aircraft: PT-LEP and PT-LEQ, offered by British Aerospace as part of a marketing strategy, since these aircraft would demonstrate its capabilities by operating in the amazon region. The airline was founded in 1976 and shut its operations in 2002. It was known for being the only operator of multiple planes in Brazil, such as the Dash 8. The Bae 146 joined their fleet in 1983, but only remained for a short period of time, as the airline was not paying their lease.
Another airline, Air Brasil, ordered and painted one Bae 146, but they never made it to regular operations.
