We start and finish this trip at Vágar Faroe International Airport. The Faroe Islands are part of Denmark but are self governing. The airport is the only one which serves the Faroe Islands and is not subject to the rules of the European Union due to the autonomous status of Faroe. This is the home of the Faroese national airline Atlantic Airways.
The Faroe Islands are an archipelago of 18 major islands out of a total of 779 islands, islets and skerries about halfway between Iceland and Norway. The islands are the remains of several huge volcanic lava flows which occurred between 54 and 58 million years ago. The three main layers are separated by ash and sediments which led to rich vegetation growing in sub tropical climates. This resulted in some coal deposits forming in the layers. The plateau has since subsided leaving the heavily glaciated landscape which gives such stunning views today. The exposed nature of the islands means the climate is windy, wet and cool so don't forget your coat. Fishing and IT are among the main occupations of the islanders. This tour takes you to all corners of the islands.
I have created water landing strips at key points. I have also overlaid a transparent runway over Vágar Airport to enable landing at the same airport where we started. This is the reason it has a different ICAO Ident. Keep your eye on fuel levels.
Hope you enjoy this spectacular trip.

The CubCrafters X Cub with floats is used on this trip.

The trip has 5 legs and is 222nm long

Autopilot in Nav Mode may be useful on longer sections. Pop out the MFD as a separate window to show the Map (Right Alt and LM click).
Make sure you have your map handy (LittleNavMap is my preferred guide).
